Both of these series involve a character getting involved in some extravagant and insane plot, in a world where weird and paranormal occurrences are seen as completley normal to everyone around. Both stories are tied together by wonderfully original art styles that make the story feel like something straight out of a fever dream.

Both black comedies with a sense of the ridiculous Elements of psychological horror Both have atypical art styles Similar comedic style Abe Youichi is a fan of Dowman Sayman

Blood diver Ringo and the fishbowl man is better known, but Daidai is by far better, so if you enjoy the humor mixed with tragedy be sure to check it out as well.

Even if Soil is an intricate tightly woven story and Blood Diver Ringo is a bit more light hearted work actually classified as shounen, they both share a surrealistic and psychedelic mystery that brings you on a strange journey.

You gotta love how the need for drawing girls in school swimsuits results in fantastic surrealistic works of art. Both are classics filled with humor, despair and heart warming moments.

both are truly surreal horror stories of children drawn into psychotic events involving strangenesses which could only be drawn out of a fever dream.......both manga share a similarly sketchy, impressionistic, and very personal style of art.....and i recommend both.........
