The Shogakukan Manga Award (小学館漫画賞, Shōgakukan Mangashō) is one of Japan's major manga awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing. It has been awarded annually for serialized manga since 1955 and features candidates from a number of publishers. Each winning work will be honored with a bronze statuette and a prize of 1 million yen (about US$9,000). Special awards are also occasionally given out for outstanding work, lifetime achievement, and so forth. The list of manga that are considered the most recognizable in Shonen genre, including the Big 3 of Shonen Jump. Can be used as a reference sheet for newcomers to the manga industry. When people try to explain why they love a manga so much, you might find the usual "I love the characters", "really like the art", "world building!!". Which, by no means is a bad thing, but an element of manga that is not very commonly talked about it panelling. It's very easy to confuse composition and panelling, but hopefully this list will help you experience the true beauty of how important panel structure is to maintain consistent flow whilst reading! For part 2: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/19694 (some are more loosely 'delinquent', be it important characters or elements) Sometimes, all I need is a fun group of friends having fun together to have a good time. Here are all the fun groups of friends that made me sad to say goodbye. All genres but leans heavily romance. Number of sales and date that number was acquired from in notes for each. Some of them I have personally estimated a higher figure than the date says. No. 105 is Sake no Hosomichi by Roswell Hosoki, which started in 1994 with 52 volumes & 998 chapters in Weekly Manga Goraku. For anyone interested in what graced the pages of the world's biggest manga magazine. No gimmicks, no throwing bombs on skateboards, no soccer prison, no baseball gambling, just real people doing real sports. - Character growth This is for your friends who only know manga through anime or only relate it to shonen and H, it’s not necessarily directed at a “manga beginner” but for someone who wants to understand it better as a medium. More than 1 volume, well drawn, easy to follow yet interesting visual and narratively. These are all some pretty good shounen manga! Some of these are pretty popular while others are pretty niche but I decided that as long as it’s shounen, I’ve read the manga and liked it, I added it to the list. That means there are fantasy series, delinquent series, isekai, sports manga, and etc. I hope you find something interesting to read in here! Have a blast! |
