An older man takes care of a little girl (a little mature for her age) who developes feelings for him. Both shoujo/josei, a slice of life with some mystery or drama Manga. Kore wa Koi no Hanashi is more romantic, Meiji Hiiro Kitan may have more development but not all chapters have been translated yet 

Taiyou no Ie and Meiji Hiiro Kitan are both heartwarming stories with well considered and deep characters. They both tell the story of a younger, lost girl who is taken into the home of a considerably older male love interest. The main difference is probably in the level of realism. Taiyou no Ie is set in the present day and is more plausible. Meiji Hiiro Kitan is set in a romanticized Meiji era and the female protagonist's drawn age is too young to suit her personality or to allow the romance to be at all feasible. 

Both manga portray a form of partnership between the male and female protagonists. The girls were once saved by the guys in the past and decide to help them in their line of work as a form of repayment while harbouring unrequited love towards them. Meiji Hiiro Kitan features a the story in a historical setting, while Yashio to Mikumo features the story with supernatural aspects.
