In both mangas, you can get something inhumane and unrealistic, but at a price. It starts off free, but because of the female's greediness, she asks for more, and all ends up tragic. Both have a creepy salesman, who convinces the females to get what they offer. However, Ningyou Saisei Koujou is much more tragic in the end and much more disturbing.  

In both mangas, a plain girl, who has a crush, makes a wish that her crush would notice her, and that does come true. She experiences a short-term period of happiness, but when things turn normal, they get too greedy and try to get their crush, even if they don't like her. But the price was too high for her to pay, and it ends badly for her. If you like creepy people, greedy people, and tragic endings, then you should try these two mangas out.  

In both one shots, people have the ability to rent out inhumane things and both mains have feelings for a character that loves someone else. In Ability Shop, you can rent out special abilities, such as being able to improve yourself, but you must pay a price. In Kokoro Rental, you can rent out people's heart, but also at a price. Also, in both mangas, two mysterious people run the shop and both mains in the manga realize at the end that they cannot change the feelings of the person they like, no matter what they do.
