Both manga share a similar premise: Japan has turned into a huge dictatorial world power and has develope the ultimate tool of mass control product of inhumanity getting out of hand: "Battle Royale": a sort of survival experiment with aparent benefits in enduring human will, yet it looks more like a governmet delusion that actually creates pure paranoia and trauma among people. Somewhat similar in terms of narrative style and plot. In both series the emphasis is on characters and Somewhat similar in terms of plot (politics, conspiracy to overthrow/build a new government) and their emphasis on characters and dialogue. The diegetic worlds of both series are well defined (based on real life but with fantasy/mythological elements added in case of Japan Tengu Party and alternate history developments in National Quiz). Art in both series is distinct and original, with Tengu Party being more on the artsy side. On overall if you enjoyed one I am quite sure that you should like the other. And if you  read more
