Coming-of-age titles that particularly deal with relationships and sex within a school context.

By the same mangka. Himizu is 2x darker than Ciguatera. Ciguatera is humorous at times with a bit of dark stuff thrown in.

The manga content covered by Beck's anime and the first three volumes of Ciguatera are incredibly similar in terms of both their content and tone. The two are coming of age stories where a nobody tries to become a somebody and overcome their insecurities, with the main driving force being romance. In both the leads suffer from daily bullying at school and just deal with it because, like in the land of the real, crying like a bitch doesn't help any. Ciguatera has less far less drama on the romance side and - until the final chapter - is FAR less frustrating. It also has various  read more

Both series feature comedy, drama, romance, and mature themes. Exaggerated facial expressions are plentiful.

Both series focus on an adolescent male protagonist dealing with both the joys and agonies of growing up, and the mysteries of life and love.

Both stories are more focused on comedy with an underlying issue of darkness. Densetsu has much more comedy though.

Both of these two focus on the relationship of a weak boy and a not-so-weak girl, and both manga also deals with lots of drama and nudity, with occassional humor that mainly comes from the facial reactions. Sundome has more ecchi, while Ciguatera is more realistic.

Both manga share quite a few similarities, including having a bullied/weak willed protagonist, a really pretty love interest, a shady bully character, scary realistic situations involving personal safety, etc.

Both of them deal with a dark aura and leave you a similar feeling. Ciguatera has more comedy but it should be enjoyable if you liked Aku no Hana.

Both feature adolescent guys that get into a relationship with a girl some time into the story. Both the main characters get into a lot of trouble and it is mostly their own fault. Both MCs have friends that grow to distaste them and come at odds with. Both of the characters suffer somewhat with mental health throughout their respective stories. Both feature an older character that somewhat bullies the protagonist but grows to like or respect the protagonist further into the story. Overall the vibe is quite similar, as both are somewhat darkly comedic and psychological coming-of-age stories. The biggest difference is that Bokutachi has a realistic arstyle where  read more

Both series feature depressing slice of life stories and share a similar atmosphere.

Slice of life about average people in their everyday lives overcoming hardships and coming of age.

Both series feature protagonists who often get themselves in a variety of complications including dealing with gangsters/yakuza, romance, and even school.

Some bullying involved. Also about a boy wanting some girl. Both with 'evolved' ecchi/seinen content.

Both series highlight the development of a couple's relationship. Being seinen series, the two profoundly maintain the outlook from the male protagonist, though we are also subjected to the female protagonist's thoughts. Finally, mature themes are explored with a somewhat consistent focus on sex - moreso in the case of Chisa x Pon.

Both feature loser protagonists who strive to achieve a dream they had since childhood while meeting very eccentric (and crazy) characters during their everyday lives.
reportRecommended by arimakenshin
Both series follow the struggles of the male protagonist in regard to school, bullying, and girls.
