Story - 3
I'm wondering if I can do the story justice since there's really no..... *sigh* Nevermind.
Okay, you want a story? It goes like this.
Once upon a time, there was a salary man who lived with his fiery-dragon wife (non-breathing fire by the way! Yeah, I know I know, I'm contradicting myself. DEAL WITH IT!!!!), whom he has been married to for just about a year. He goes to work diligently, gets stressed diligently, goes to fix the fuck up of his boss and colleagues diligently, stumbles on an assassin doing his work at night.....DILIGENTLY! Said assassin dies diligently and said salaryman takes the mantle
...
of the assassin diligently. The story begins from there diligently.
Art - 7
Mehn, the art is crispy as fuck (dark). I found myself nodding my head since there's a lot of eye candies everywhere (I see you Misako and Chinatsu!). For another eye candy, reach chapter 29 to unlock!!! That's all I'm gonna hand you to kids, go explore more my children, make daddy proud. ^_^.
The plot (of land) is thick with this one!!!! No seriously, the art is probably the best thing this manga has to offer. It takes the action (gun duels) from nothing out of the ordinary to a joy to behold.
Character - 4
This is probably where things fall apart (shout out to Chinua Achebe). I mean, the dude goes from punk ass office-worker to assassin by night (and vice-versa) till he dabbles in between both worlds like he was a total natural (NOT!). It's unfortunate the story was written from the start to be nothing serious.
From the start, the MC is able to don his assassin mode almost too perfectly. It's ridiculous. He trains but we don't get to see it. He has doubts about a lot of stuff, WE DO GET TO SEE THOSE! WTF!!!!
I do like how characters (even the villains or bad guys) generally show their thoughts and doubts though.
Misako, Chinatsu and the unlockable character sure are great to see and watch. The way the MC relates with them will always give a laugh. I mean, damn, his wife (Misako) suspected him of cheating at one point, she decided to follow him wherever he went to confirm her assumption of him being a cheater (WITH JUST A TOWEL ON!!!! Or almost). My my, she displayed such promise of being an olympic runner (Chap. 18, Pg. 9 & 12). I like it.
My best character is still Specs though!!! The dude is just awesome. He's one of the slickest pimps I've ever seen in an action manga. His moves are legendary!!! Period!!!!
Enjoyment - 7
OF COURSE I ENJOYED IT!!!!! Um, although the characters don't undergo development, the comedy in this is enough to keep me around. It may be episodic (after this villain comes this new one like every 2 or 3 chapters and so on) but the duels in this manga are AMAZING!
I love the part where it goes, 'My name is Tokichi Inaba....'. Funny thing is, we get a Misako Inaba and Chinatsu edition buahahaha. I'll let you in on a secret, *shhhhh* come closer. Specs had his own too, but you didn't hear it from me though.
Overall - 5
This is a manga with about 31 volumes from what I see (28 depending on what sources you get your info from) and release is very slow. I'd advice whoever is interested to read it quick and move on. It's not a manga to really take serious but it's very much enjoyable (unless you're an elitist or you got no sense of humor). The action isn't blown outta the top always, it's just enjoyable. I like it so I wrote a review on it. Anyway, Berserker passing through as usual. We outchea in this bitch!!! Leggo!!!!
P.S. Okay I'll do this once and once only.
'My name is Raging_Berserker and I'm about to drop the mic before I leave. Hit yous with that quick hit review then I do the bob and weave, I'm Muhammad Ali!!! Peace!'.
