Both start out as gag mangas but slowly turns into more serious fighting manga. Both are classics that you will see referenced alot in other works.

They start out as comedy /parody series but eventually evolve into tournament fighting. Both manga have crazy and violent fights, but the dead characters tend to not stay dead for long and come back via deus ex machina. The main appeal in both is how outrageous some of the fighting techniques are. Overall Kinnikuman is probably the better manga though, mostly because the characters in Sakigake are pretty bland.

One is about superhero wrestlers, and the other is about robots. What they have in common is their large casts of characters, many of which have quirky designs and over the top abilities, with their names often ending in "man". I'm mainly recommending the (original/classic) Rockman game series, but most games do have manga adaptations by different authors.

Kinnnikuman is a Battle shonen about Superhero wrestlers battleing the forces of evil chojins like Hokuto no Ken both manga got a anime by Toei , which the leads are both play by Akira Kamiya at that time , and yes they have over the top fights too

Boku no hero Academia is just like a new, more serious Kinnikuman. Both are centered arround heroes and both main character inherit the power to become the best hero and stand above everyone else, but strugle to do it at first. In both mangas, the main character is guided by the best hero of a generation past (Suguru's father and Prince Kamehame in Kinnikuman, and All might in BnHA).

An action comedy series that hinges around a ridiculously overpowered MC and his group of close allies. Story arcs gradually become more serious as the manga goes on. MC has an air of humor throughout that lends itself to many gags. Comes across simple and one-track-minded, but genuinely grows as a character.

In both manga the main character is a loser that becomes stronger and funnier with every fight.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure & Kinnikuman are manly series which are still being published today. Both of these manga mark the debut of their current long running status; bearing multiple sequels and spin-offs to their franchise. Kinnikuman is more childish in tone with its wacky character designs but can be dark at violent at times especially when its enemies include satanic figures and corrupt Gods. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is more horror based but can be as ludicrous as Kinnikuman. Other similarities include: very bizarre events, gritty battles, shonen friendship and the family passage of the next generation of heroes.

Both have manly heroes fighting the forces of evil. Kinnikuman utilizes wrestling as their style while Toriko features food themed attacks. While these manga can be outrageous at times they do contain gritty elements as the story progresses. The humor can be childish(especially in Kinnikuman) but manages to pull through with epic moments and features a diverse cast of characters.

Both are JUMP manga that started out as gag manga that later changed to fighting manga. Both kept zany elements from when they were gag manga throughout the series.
