Manga: A Small World
Focusing on the dynamics of a daughter and her stepfather, both works provide the readers a broader view of life in line with their circumstances: the passing away of the mother. These two exemplify that kinship isn't needed to have a bond as strong as that connected with blood.

Manga: Tomodachi no Hanashi
They are from the same artist so they both have the same weird and really cool drawing style. Also they both are quite different from your typical shoujo and they both have a similar overall feeling to them.

Manga: Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
Both gorgeous and relatively tasteful takes on the age gap subject with a charming main pairing and a vibrant supporting cast. Yajirobee I can more confidently recommend as Ameagari still has time to get gross with things, but both are sober and evocative, reaching out beyond their central conceit. Each also takes itself and its subject much more seriously than the standard shoujo fare (ok Ameagari isn't exactly shoujo but its pulling me in like one anyway!!)

Manga: Usagi Drop
Both manga deal with unusual relationship between a young man and a child that became father and daughter out of certain circumstances. While Usagi Drop starts when Usagi is very young, Yajirobee shows the realtionship when Haru is graduating into high school. They both have this warm feeling and not very dramatic way of telling the story.

Both have an older guy helping to raise a little girl. Possible hints of future romance. Great art and pacing.

These manga are about a young girl living with an older guy by themselves, the main characters in each manga are also similar in the way that their family relationships are dysfunctional and/or estranged.
