Both of these manga are about music and both consist of a piano. Both Piano players have/had a problem with being able to play the piano and this tells the story of how they go about overcoming it. In Sayonara, The guy is the one helping the girl overcome the problem, whilst in Shigatsu it is the girl that is helping the guy overcome his. Note - both of these mangas are taken from the guys point of view, thus if you read either one of them, you see someone overcoming his problem, and also you see the helper helping the help wanter overcome hers.
