Dorohedoro is the more action-y, plot-oriented version of Voynich Hotel. Both of these series have very strange settings and characters, yet treat them like they're normal.

Both manga are by Dowman Sayman, and they both delight the reader with bizarre, quirky, and often heartwarming occurrences.

Both feature multiple point of views from recurring characters living in a wacky world, with an emphasis on comedy, although they both have their fair share of emotional moments, as well as a few slightly disturbing ones.

even though the genres are different from one another these mangas are pretty similar, the styles are kind of the same. these are the kind of manga you could read in the morning with a cup of coffee or whatever you may drink, they remind me of newspaper comics. plus they can give you a good laugh! :D

Similar vibe - grotesque, artstyle, modern world with fantasy setting

Dark Humour, check! Hilarious Story, check! Twisted Innocence, check! Both are dark comedy vibe manga that will definitely take you for a ride, they are short yet the story is composed to make it unique in its own right.

The MC's art is very similar and the art concepts (not style) are similar. Both concern the supernatural. Both can get dark at times. The nonchalance of the characters when something happens that most people would consider crazy is the same in both series. The sense of humor is similar. And finally, both are short series that end well.

There are many reasons why if you liked one you might like the other. - the characters look alike -sense of humor is similar -the plot - the explicit situations (in this Murcielago is much more) - the atmosphere -the situations Etc and that's why I think if you like me you should try the other one

Zetsubou sensei is also a comedy manga with a dark tone to it. The art style used in this manga is quite similar to Koji Kumeta-sensei's work, so much so that I had to confirm whether the artist was in fact a former assistant of his or something. SZS has more reference-related gags as compared to Voynich hotel.

Voynich Hotel takes very blatant inspiration from the works of Suda51, particularly Flower, Sun, and Rain, so one should definitely look into Suda's works if they want to see where Voynich originated. I'm referring to Suda's works in general here (which are mostly games), as KD came out after Voynich, but even KD has its own arc based on FSR so there are some eccentric island hotel stories to be found there as well.

Voynich hotel and Azazel-san have a similar easy going feel to it, and similar type of humour. Also they both contain strong and likeable characters that keep the story together. Azazel-san have a bit more crude humour, but both are absolutely recommended.

Both Sunabozu and Voynich Hotel are really hard to explain in one sentence without sounding extremely boring. They share a similar storytelling technique, where the grand narrative is diminished and the plot breaks down into something very mundane, far away from the big stories often told in manga. This is also why they shine so much, without the big plot devices like heroes, villains and good and evil, the small acts and gestures become so much bigger, and the storytelling doesn't need to rely on the typical plot devices to get the story forward.

Both have many quirky characters and generally a similar atmosphere.

What hinamatsuri and voynich hotel share are the warmth and subtle humor with focus on the little things amidst all crazy stuff going on. Both hinamatsuri and voynich hotel are my absolute top favorites, they are manga that may not make you laugh out loud in every chapter, but you might an hour later while thinking back, getting how completely insane the plot actually is.

Abe Youichi and Dowman Seiman have a similar way of crafting bitter sweet stories which makes you both happy and sad at the same time. Daidai is a must if you enjoyed Voynich Hotel.

A bunch of weird characters meet up on a remote island. Zaregoto is a murder mystery light novel (available used on Amazon for $30) with much more depth. The Voynich Hotel also has a horror element too but it is more of a slice of life comedy about the occupants of the hotel.

It's kind of a stretch to compare these two, but Beastars does have a similar easygoing story with just enough subtle abnormalities and quirks that when you start noticing them you're too much into the world and story to be able to object to them. Both are also works with a very non-targeted appeal. If you don't count furries in the case of Beastars, there's no clear focus group neither of them are appealing to, which makes them go under the radar for many who doesn't have the patience that's needed to get a work like this. That's a shame though because the warm and  read more
