Friendship and the complications involving love during school life are the main theme in both manga. Both involves a duo of central characters, each of whom discover the value of the other in their social life. 

Two close friends deal with love and friendship problems. As you can see from the covers their art styles are very unique. Both are very deep stories (In Hana to Rakurai, wait till the second half) and both get surprising turns of events. Also if you got sick of love triangles, both are good choices for you. 

They are from the same artist so they both have the same weird and really cool drawing style. Also they both are quite different from your typical shoujo and they both have a similar overall feeling to them.  

You get to see the view point of several characters. 

Both manga are from the same artist so they have the same unique art style. The characters in both manga are really relatable and likeable. Both MCs (Eiko and Utako) are the shy adorable type. The stories have the same light and fluffy feel to them too.  

Both are high school girls' romances. 

Both have an amazing central element of friendship to the plot. While love is also a present element, it is mainly on the element of friendship. Both also provoke warm feelings in the hearts and have extremely unique characters despite it is shoujo. Many say they can relate to both of the mangas too. 

The art is similar and their genres are comedy, romance, school and slice of life. Both stories are about a normal or unpopular person having a best friend which is very good-looking and popular.  

These two stoies have an amazing central element of friendship to the plot, revolving aroung two girl bestfriends that are polar opposites. Despite being so different the girls are closer than ever. While love is also a good portion of the story, it is mainly focuses on the beauty of friendship and how strong the two girls bond is with one another. Both also provoke warm feelings in the hearts and have extremely unique characters despite it is shoujo. Many say they can relate to both of the mangas too.  

Both series give the reader light and feathery feelings while reading them. The stories focus on love and connection/bonds. Each posseses characters with complexes and strong emotions. They both give same feeling while reading them, I highly recommend these two.
