The Shogakukan Manga Award (小学館漫画賞, Shōgakukan Mangashō) is one of Japan's major manga awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing. It has been awarded annually for serialized manga since 1955 and features candidates from a number of publishers. Each winning work will be honored with a bronze statuette and a prize of 1 million yen (about US$9,000). Special awards are also occasionally given out for outstanding work, lifetime achievement, and so forth.

A list of Seinen manga I think are great and can recommend. Mostly drama/psychological but has a little bit of other stuff. Will update throughout the future

Manga that capture genuine stories or experiences of real people. Fictional biographies such as Tezuka's Buddha are not within the scope of this list.

Works that portray children in convincing ways.

These are works that quite stood out to me in how dynamics between friends were portrayed. Some of these are quite obvious, as they're within the cute-girls space, but others are more out there in less mundane contexts.

The Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival held since 1997 by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awarding of several prizes and an exhibition.

Stories that evoke strong emotions and convey one/multiple "moral of the story".

Range from light-hearted cheerful slice-of-life to dark psychological tragedy.

Some are highly philosophical and can shift your perception of life, happiness, morality, humanity, etc.

One manga per author.

Ranking of all Matsumoto Taiyou's manga I've read

Great mangas for everyone from different genres and years.

Manga that have frogs and/or toads in them, can be real, can be items.

The joke here is communication about these is kinda weird unless specified that the response itself is the title.
"What's your fav manga?"
> Undecided.

Or if someone tuning in to a conversation between weebs would be extremely confused about it either by controversy or u sounding illiterate af:
> "My favourite manga is In Hand"
> "I love Children" ☠️☠️


I will also include series that are difficult to search and result in the complete opposite. eg;
Searching "Goth manga"
