How they are similar? Well for one thing, they both have the persevering main protagonist. And, they also have that second guy who wants more than anything to sway that main lead...  

Childhood friends, unrequited love, love triangles and drama. I read one right after the other and I almost thought I was reading the same manga over again. 

Both the protagonists struggle their way through an unrequited romance whilst pushing aside the cliched shoujo happy ending , thus maintaining the prominent theme of love in the two series. Although Strobe edge is more mature, heroine shikkaku portrays an elaborate use of comic relief, which was much appreciated since the manga was tearing our hearts apart. If you enjoyed Strobe edge and are tired of those damned cliched love stories, Heroine Shikkaku will surely sweep up your top favorite manga list! On top of that, if you read through heroine shikakku carefully, you notice the main characters of strobe edge appear as background characters in heroine shikkaku, so look out for that ;)  read more 

Both have nice artwork and a love triangle even though the main girl character still likes the main guy character. Both show the struggles of their one sided love and the characters are similar in personality. Good highschool shoujos and this one should definitely be read if you're a fan of Heroine Shikkaku. 

While they give a different feeling, beige Shikkaku Heroine more comedy, both have the same premise: The main characters are childhood Friends, she falls for him but he is in love with another girl, so she starts dating some other guy who is more appealing than the main guy. If you like the idea, you might like the other. 

There is something similar about the girl's because they seem much more like the way real live girls are in the way they think than the typical girls in shoujos. In Switch Girl it's her behavior behind the scenes while in Heroine Shikkaku it's her personality or more like the way she thinks that is realistic. She has her mean thoughts about others and the way she thinks about herself seems more realistic than most shoujos.  

Both series include girls that are bishoujo. The personality of the female lead and male lead for both series are quite similar. It is similar as the plot involves love triangle as well as it is more interesting and realistic. The story plot is not like typical shoujo manga that goes smooth-sailing all the time. As both of girls aren't like these typical shoujo heroines that gives up easily. They work hard to get what they truly wants. 

Finished reading Heroine Shikkaku but have been left craving more? It's a good thing Hirunaka no Ryuusei exists! Both our heroines in these two shōjos endure the adversities of a love triangle. While Heroine Shikkaku follows the complex romances between high school students, Yamamori Mika, mangaka of Hirunaka no Ryuusei, spices things up by daringly making one of the male leads the heroine's homeroom teacher. When reading Hirunaka no Ryuusei, your Heroine Shikkaku cravings will be satisfied in no time at all. 

If Kimi no Todoke was told from Kurumi's point of view.  

In both mangas, a girl falls for a womanizer. The womanizer (or "playboy"), however, finds a special someone who they (seemingly) are in love with before the heroine can make a move. Both heroines are left in shock and try to win the man, but (seemingly) fail. This further complicates when another guy who loves the heroine and says that he would take away the feelings of the heroine comes along. Both mangas are full of drama (more like melodrama) and are highly recommended for those who like the "shoujo" genre and high school love.
