Have you ever wanted to read a shoujo that was realistic? Well these two manga are perfect examples of a realistic shoujo. The protagonists feel like they truly exist, and the problems they face are relatable. These two shoujos aren't simply about who is dating whom but the emotions that come hand in hand with falling in love. 

Shoujo stories that are more realistic and almost belong in the josei category. Plot wise, they're not that similar. Only a few aspects (one really) such as trying to survive in the entertainment world. In Cat Street, the main character goes through depression due to childhood trauma (she was a childhood actress) and spend her days lazing about until she discovers a "free school" for students with different needs and talents. She doesn't belong there….or does she? While Six Half also deals with past trauma, the main character uses different "coping" methods. After an accident, she suffers from amnesia. Discovering her past self is less than amiable, she fears this stranger she hears about may really be her true self. Finally, a new start; a fresh beginning presents itself….but the past has a way of hovering over you; shadowing your every move. Unable to escape, will they overcome such towering walls created by their past selves or be consumed by it? Follow the heroines as they begin to discover their true selves and talents. both start with the same concept of 'heroine lost all of her personal memories due to an accident' and though the development is quite different, it's nicely done in both cases, really interesting and keeps you wanting to see how it goes on 

These two mangas are on the darker than most shoujo, because of their more realistic and dark approach of tropes, making them seem as if they're josei mangas. The MCs have conflicts in their families, making them unlikable at first, untill we slowly learn about them piece by piece 

Same author, similar vibes and characters, heaps of drama along the way with an unexpected happy ending. 

If you like shoujos but more into the dark and realistic ways of life (perhaps even josei, yet they're hard to find), you'll definitly enjoy these mangas. True messy relationships between the characters and how they solve them.  

Six Half and Yumenara Samenaide both deal with a girl who wakes up from a coma. In Six Half, she does not remember anything about the past, in other words, complete memory loss. In Yumenara Samenaide, she is confused because she doesn't know what happened to everyone she once knew and is taken in by a strange man. They both remind me of eachother, don't know whether it would be the same for you. 

Both are about a girl who lost her memory and is trying to adapt her new life. Both have a great artwork.  

Both touch the topic of a girl losing her memories. 

Both are stories that involve a main protagonist who suffers from the effects of amnesia due to an accident. With not being able to identify with the people and places around them, both run into issues of feeling that their pre-accident self is almost like an entirely different person, and try to form a new individuality that's separate from before. 

The style are very similar. You can also see that both has a "mature" feel to it. Both heroine tries and solve a mystery that just seems to unravel more and more. Unrequited love? Sort of. If you like the sadness, but sometimes very sweet moments kind of manga, you should definitely read this
