I think they have very a similar dark atmosphere and I'm convinced that if you liked GOTH you're probably gonna like Lying Mii-kun and Broken Maa-chan. (and btw they're both manga-adaptations of novels)

Very much the same on a psychological level. Both are deep, while on the surface they don't look like it. Both cope with the surpressing of memories and certain emotions. Both are very good mangas, indeed.

i-chan and mii-kun are both big fat liars, to the point that you can't even trust their narration of events... nonetheless that's what makes both all the more awesome. they both have a complex hate/love relationship with the heroines, who are both are bit wacky, though Maa-chan is way more psychotic in her weirdness. And last but not least, the past has turned them hollow, but they cover it up with a facade filled with lies

the two manga are similar in the sense of how toxic the relationship is between the two main characters, both stories feature a severely mentally disturbed couple in which the partners reinforce each other's negative traits. While the story of Mii-kun and Maa-chan focuses more on the psychological aspect, Kimi ni Koisuru Satsujinki also adds some gore into the mix.

both reveal bit by bit the truth of the story, allthewhile slowly changing the readers expectations as to what that truth is and though the solution is foreshadowed it still comes as a surprise in the end - that's what makes them both a good read

Very much the same mood. Involves killing, problem solving and the internal thoughts of some characters with pretty unfortunate pasts.

Main heroines of both mangas are damaged psychologically due to childhood experiences
