Niji no Prelude (虹のプレリュード, Rainbow Prelude); Shuukan Shoujo Comic #1975/10/5 - /10/26
This is a story of Poland during the time it was occupied by Russian troops. A young girl, Louise, enters the Warsaw Conservatory where she meets the young Chopin and falls in love with him. She also gets acquainted with a young patriot named Joseph, who is fighting for the honor of Poland. Louise is struck by Joseph's patriotism. She is persuaded by Chopin to go to Paris with him but she could not forsake her country. She tries to hide Joseph but the two are pursued by the Russian troops and finally shot to death. When Poland is occupied by Russia, Chopin describes in his music, the souls of the two patriots.

This story is a modern and comical arrangement of William Shakespeare's famous story of the same name. Bassanio, a young man, engages Antonio, a merchant of Venice, as a witness and borrow some money from the infamous money leader Shylock who lays down severe terms for the transaction. Shylock demands that if the money is not repaid by the time the date of payment is due, he would exact one pound of Bassanio's flesh. Bassanio is unable to repay his debt in time and faces a crisis, but his sweetheart Portia comes to the rescue and the young man escapes without having to pay one pound of his own flesh.

Kujaku Kai (孔雀貝, Peacock Shell); Shoujo Club 1958-06 Appendix
There was an island in the Southern Seas on whose shores was a large peacock shell which legend had it that anyone who touched the shell would obtain love. The king of this island was a very superstitious man and ordered all his subject on the island to believe in the legend. One day, a Japanese youth happened to drift to this island and fell in love with the king's younger sister Lima. But the youth did not believe in superstitions and incurred the wrath of the king who broke the two apart. The heart-broken Lima prayed that the legend on the island was not superstitious and jumped into the sea where the peacock shell dwelled and drowned herself. The youth grasped the body of Lima whose hand clasped the peacock shell tightly and cursed the superstition of the island.

Shiro Kujaku no Uta (白くじゃくの歌, Song of the White Peacock); Nakayoshi 1959-Naytsuyasumi Zoukangou
The girl Yuri had a white peacock which her deceased father had been very fond of. The peacock could dance very skillfully and Yuri used to play the piano as an accompaniment in the bird's dance. Soon Yuri and the white peacock became very famous and they began to appear on television. As time passed, however, Yuri's popularity waned and the peacock who had encouraged Yuri in her time of sorrow, died of old age. Yuri enters a musical academy and composes a song about the white peacock.
