Both titles revolve around male protagonists who develop a passion for a sport (boxing in Hajime no Ippo and karate in Hanza Sky). We follow their development which is often showcased through the natural sequence of training and competitive participation.

If you like HanzaSky you might want to go on to reading Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru. First of all these are both martial arts, sports manga featuring karate and training to be stronger. However, Karate is a more mature manga that is a seinen and it's much longer at 500 chapters. But if you enjoy sports manga and martial arts manga try both of these. We see a lot more development of Minoru in 500 chapters of course and it's art, detailing muscles and fights is very strong and well drawn. Sometimes the seinen  read more

Both feature a character that's helplessly in love with a girl that has extremely good martial arts skills, that has inspired them to fight or change their direction in life.

Martial arts manga centering on karate - both HanzaSky and Full Contact are shounen mangas of young guys training hard to become stronger and better martial artists. They differ in the art types. Full Contact has cleaner art, while Hanza Sky's art is rough but energetic. Hanza Sky has a delinquent turning to martial arts while Full Contact is more about a guy's growth from starting in the martial arts more traditionally. They are complete but all the translations are done on Full Contact a while ago while Hanza Sky has had lags in translations  read more

In both, the male protagonist develops a strong interest towards a sport; so much so that he joins a club which participates in competitive tournaments.

Very similar opening story line. Both tenjou tenge and hanza sky have delinquents that join a martial arts club in their school. They start a fight with a member and then join after being trounced by a beautiful female member who saves her kouhai. That's where the similarities end however; and tenjou tenge diverges into a world of supernatural martial arts fighting. While hanza sky follows more of the path of other martial arts manga and has inter-high matches and focuses on personal growth kind of like full contact and karate shoukoushi kohinata minoru.
