I would rate this a 7.5/10 if I could.
Compared to To Terra, it is not as good. However, in a vacuum it is still a fun story with old-school manga art and a few interesting ideas and twists. Unlike To Terra, the story has a lot of mystery into what is going on woven throughout it which keeps quite a bit of the suspense and character interplay interesting as you want to know what happens next. I found most of the paneling to be easy to understand, though there were a few times I had to recap a page to fully grasp what was
...
going on.
The book has no chapters, it is just one long run. There are at least two or three times where we get "time" or "location" jumping which can be a bit jarring and take a little to parse out - but nothing too difficult.
It has some questionable themes between two characters by the end of the story - but I think it is a bit of a play on a few other religious texts which ends up having questionable themes when human populations are limited. The book even admits this through in-world characters that it is questionable.
Anyway, it was good but not great. I think it is worth reading but with appropriate expectations. As with some other manga produced in the past, I think some of the story here suffered due to clunky translation.
