I noticed there were no reviews for this manhua. I came across this on mangafox trying to find something romantic. I read the summery and was turned off, but when I looked at the cover art I had to read it. I am glad I did. As of now there are only 4 chapters up, but they are really good. There is a little bit of everything in here, even a little romance. If you are a fan of the earlier episodes of naruto and bleach, I think you will like this. If fighting is not your thing, don't be discouraged, so far there is ... still enough plot keep you reading. ooh, did I mention that the guys are hotttttt.

The story is has the back bone of most romances; the boy is well off in society until something happens making their family fall from grace, his life is endangered and is saved by the girl who is worse off then him, etc. but the elements of fantasy and action set this one apart just enough to be refreshing and fun. Part of the story are confusing, and the first chapter is more of a teaser chapter, not fitting into the main story but incites a interest in the reader. Despite the random or confusing moments the story is still good.The ending felt a little ... rushed but gives a definite end for the characters.

The art is simply beautiful, each character is full of details and the backgrounds didn't go unnoticed to me. The characters expression reveal a lot of what they feel and the designs for the gods aren't over complicated but still steal the light from the other parts of the scene.

Only a few of the characters get developed, which is a slight downfall to me since character development is one of my favorite parts of any story and something i expect when reading anything other than smut. Kiron, Shumire and Tama are the only ones that get developed, and i would have loved to seen Aida and especially Maui get developed, seeing as they were just important to the story.

I tend not to read a lot of the longer results when I look for a random series, not wanting something else to take up days of my time, but I am glad I chose read this series. Despite the small problems with the story and the lack of character development, I truly enjoyed the series and finished it in two sittings. If you are looking for a bit of action and romance, with a bit of a happy ending you should give it a read its worth the time.

Okay, I overrated this manga the first time round.

Actually, the art isn't that good. Leaving aside the fact that Tama and Shumire look identical even though one is a man and the other is a woman, the contours of the face is just not very well drawn. Dark Mage has better art.

The action scenes, as I said before, are lackluster: Kiron throws an axe. God gets killed. That just about sums up half the "fight scenes" in this manga. The other half is people getting impaled by claws or spears or something pointy like that. Dark Mage has much better action scenes.

The ... story is also a bit nonsensical. There are "gods" who can get killed. But some gods can respawn, apparently. There's also a "king of man", which can kill gods - but it was all a part of Aizen's - woops, I meant Death God's - plan! Yes, Kiron's entire life, including meeting Aida, was all planned way in advance by the Death God, to turn him into something that kills gods, even thought the death god is a god! And then the death god gets killed by Kiron, his own creation. Which somehow leads to his other half respawning and resurrecting Aida. Also there's mana from the stars which is somehow guarded by a vampire (but only if he doesn't drink human blood) who can send it back to the stars and make it beyond the grasp of humans (but not gods), and Shumire can just become a god because she wants to, for some reason. Then she gets killed and respawns and looks like a floating glowing human. Oh and she gives the star mana to Tama, because she can just do that.

Makes perfect sense.

All in all, I would recommend Dark Mage over this manga if you like fantasy and martial arts.

Story: I gave a 6/10. It has really good potential but is wasted. Very interesting story, and themes but it's not shown across properly. The author did a terrible job at expressing the ideas and themes behind the story. Everything felt extremely rushed. Especially near the end. Things just happened, without any explanations along with many plot holes.

Art: 7/10. Good enough for me. Nothing fancy.

Character: 5/10. Horrible character development.

Enjoyment: 7/10. Although I found the story to be half-ass and not meeting up to it's full potential, I did continue to read till the end to find out what happens. So I guess it's alright ... to kill some time.

Overall: 6/10. Meh, it's alright. Kill time on a train ride, or lazy days.
