I guess I get the honor of writing the very first review for this.Now that's nice.
At first it was its title that caught my eye cause it was so weird and I was wondering what the deal was and gave it a try.I read a few chapters at first and liked it,but like I always do,I left for the time being.After months it wondered around my head,but unfortunately I could not remember at all what it was called,until I did and read many more chapters.

Now as for the story,which I have rated as 7 out of 10.
It's about a girl,Tamiya,who is very pretty,fashionable and popular ... at her school.A lot like her and idolize her,but the deal is...it's not her true self!Outside school,when she's in her element(her house) she's a totally different person in matters of appearance and behavior.She likes the feminity,she's frugal,loves video games and much much more which come in contrast with the image she has created for herself.Therefore she is called Switch girl,off mode when home,on mode outside.
While the story holds potential,I don't think it uses it to its advantage.It's both romantic and comedic.The comedy is nice at many points but the romance is what we are used to seen,I could say that I pretty much predicted many of its so called "twists".
I think it should have used that "switch" card more wiselyand the romance could become more original and less predictable.

The art gets a 6 out of 10.
It has all the characteristics of Shoujo style.Big eyes,nice hair,bishounen,the skinny/slim body.Nothing out of the ordinary or too beautiful,it looks like many and I think the eyes are too big for my liking.Not much to say here,I just find it very common and nothing too amazing,just practical to get the message across.

Characters receive a 7 out of 10
As in most shoujo-s,the ones who get character development are the two main characters involved in the romance.The get a backstory,which comes as you read the manga.We have the happy go lucky heroine who is mostly helpful and kind-hearted to anyone and the suffering hero who at first acts as an @sshole to protect himself.I'd like some originality here too,or some more depth and not the over-played stereotypes?Tamiya had potential too as a switch girl,cause she's a lot more interesting in her off mode,but it's a pity that we don't see her that way a lot more often.
The rest of the cast are friends and classmates and the antagonists of course.Some of the characters also don't appear ever again or very very rarely and don't get much development either.Also their actions and behaviors are pretty much flat and hold no personality of their own,they are only there to support the characters and give them more spotlight,compliment them.

Enjoyment,given 8 out of 10
I do enjoy reading this from time to time(as it is still on-going) cause I like its humour and some of its sexual jokes,which you rarely see in shoujos often.It has a different approach to certain things which I like.
It is lighthearted therefore not difficult to relax and just enjoy.

Overall,7 out of 10
It's good for reading,doesn't have many messages to get across that are out of the ordinary,or a love story that will scar you...It's good for its genre but not exceptional,it worths a try for the whole switch girl persona,not the romance,like I mentoned numerous times it's not my favorite part,but of course others might like this kind.

As i can remember i was randomly checking the list of mangas to decide which one i should choose and just then this manga pop out >.< it has an eye catching name as "switch girl" is really a weird name XD but i really liked the character Nika who is confident, pretty (leaving her OFF mode XD) and totally funny !! She is caring one and maybe that is the reason Akira is attracted to her :3 And the sense of costumes is really awesome !!! The plots are always interesting and as a reader i will give out 9 points out of 10 ... :D :D

This manga has been a memorable one to read into. A lot of shoujo manga's that Iv'e read seems to have a certain pattern to it's plot. Everything is getting repetitive and boring so I decided to read Switch Girl!!, the title actually caught my attention.
If you want a new series that you feel like getting a laugh on this manga is totally recommended.

Being a girl is really difficult, caring for our looks and actions is a must for us because the world thinks that our job is to act pretty and to behave maturely. The story of Switch Girl shows ... that not all girls enjoy the same things, we are all born in a unique way. It starts off with Nika Tamiya having two personalities, one is her true self which she hides for the sake of society and the other one is her being pretty and popular. Another boy is in a similar situation, Arata Kamiya, due to his good looks he tries to hide himself in ugly glasses to escape fan girls from crushing on him.

The story is really good it stays true to it's genre especially on the comedy.

As for the art, it sticks to the typical shoujo style. Big eyes, sparkly backgrounds, and skinny bodies. Though some characters almost looked the same especially the boys, at one point I thought I saw the same panel again due to it's similarities.

Character development was okay you can really grow with them as you read more of Switch Girll!!

Overall, I'm really tired of seeing how girls have to look cute just for love. To think that Nika's switch was turned on because she knew that being ugly will get you now where in life. The trauma of knowing that made her a Switch Girl. You might think it's a good thing she changed but if you think deeply on this isn't it sad? Girls have to change just to be loved, just to be noticed by anyone. No one wants to be alone so we desperately try so hard to be something that's worth people's eyes. I'm just happy that she still has her personality with her and that the only thing that changed was the outside and not the inside.

But I'm not here to give you lecture about stereotypes anyway the manga was a great read for me. I can say that If you ever read Switch Girl it will help you see that girls really work hard for love.

We're in 2012, and just read this manga... so it's a proof that his works will pass through time. And don't worry I didn't find it in a garbage.

Well, I'm a guy and read it, yeah really. First it was by curiousity, but then found myself enjoying it. So many funnies situations, so many wicked faces. But still there's a lot of "girl-inside" jokes I can't understand, however I laugh so many times while reading it.

I really like her sens of humour and how she manage draw it on paper. Really funny characters face. Like we say, "One image worth thousand of words." ... You have to read it.

The only reason I started reading this was because I was looking for a story similar to Horimiya. With the exception of the premise of the leads living secret lives, not much is similar. The comedy is not great, and most of the situations are forced. I might have continued reading a little further, but the female lead is stupid. A guy threatens to blackmail the female lead into sleeping with him, she refused wich I respected, but then she meets with the perpetrator. The perpetrator begins flirting with the female lead, and then she begins to have some romantic ... feelings for him. She only meet him for a few minutes, and she his comparing him to the male lead in feeling for him. Then the female leads tells the male lead the situation, and the male leads tells her the perpetrator has dealings with many people of different walks of life. She answers by saying that she does not believe him to be a bad guy. Remember, the guy was the same one to threaten to expose her secret if she does not sleep with him. Whatever bs backstory the author comes up with the force triangle does not matter, at this moment the female lead is idiotic.

I can honestly say that I have rarely read a manga that has made me laugh as much as Switch Girl!!

Firstly, the main character Nika is hilarious and extremely relatable to anyone else guilty of disgusting at-home habits. I read this manga in my own messy room, in embarrassing PJs, with my hair lazily up, and dorky glasses. The author completely captures the reality of females at home, set up in a way that is sure to make you cry from laughing. Her mom and sister are equally ridiculous, making the family dynamic that much better.

The artwork and its variation throughout the manga is astonishing. ... The use of Japanese cliches is perfect, and the manga laughs at itself and its genre in a not overly obvious way.

The story arcs are varied - they never go on long enough to bore, yet leave the reader with a firm satisfaction. Unlike many other manga, I did not find myself skimming through chapters, or succumbing to boredom. The author always makes funny commentary on what she has written, and these are often worth the read.

Also, obviously no shoujo manga is complete without beautiful boys to lust over. The male characters are dreamy yet real enough to appreciate.

I am heartbroken that although the series is completed, the online translations are not! Before you get into this manga, be advised that all the websites stop at chapter 67 (at this time), and the releases are few and far between. I considered learning the Japanese language, paying some kid off, and bribing the translators just to read more. If someone has somehow managed to find the remaining chapters in English, I would also consider bribing you.

I am shocked this manga is not more popular, I really think it is one of the good ones out there. I recommend it to anyone who even remotely consider themselves to have an "on/off" switch between gross home life and real world person.

This manga started out well. But i noticed that as it went on it kept repeating itself with the new characters, the mangaka added characters just for the main protagonists can 'face a hurdle'. There was a constant 'problem' they were like short arcs which usually ended up with Nika winning and as I proceeded reading the manga and these short 'problems' came up i knew that Nika will end up winning even if it thrilled me even just a bit. Of course, it wasnt all characters that were like this (e.g four-glasses, Nino etc.) However the manga was pretty cute when there werent any ... problems or near the ending of the arcs, a good thing in these arcs is that they always resulted with the main characters getting closer. It also repeated with 'Nika and Arata not getting their night together' every time something came up. I dont think it had a terrible storyline but it was repetitive.
