Still a very new manga, at the time of the review I’ve only read 6 chapters, but I’ll try to cover them without spoilers.
First this story is insane. Very different from anything I’ve read before, and so far I’m enjoying it. But there is a lot of mature themes in the story, like suicide, SA and murder, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to everyone.
Alright on with the review!
Characters- 5.5/10 (fine)
So we have the main two, and they’re decently unique. The main character is, in a brief sense, a maso counselor and the other guy is a cunning demon who is VERY straightforward.
...
I like them both decently, and because it’s so early I’m sure they’ll get plenty of character development. So far though, pretty much what it says on the tin. I’d give them both a 7. But the issue in my opinion is the side characters. All of them are very flat and a little boring. Sometimes their stories are interesting, and how it affects the main characters or progresses the plot is good, but the characters themselves frequently lack depth or much personality aside from the issue that they’re coming in with
Relationships 7.5/10
Very interesting dynamics and I’m excited to see how they progress
Plot 6/10
I like the premise where I have a feeling this series isn’t going to have a happy ending. Again, still early so not a ton of plot yet, but I can appreciate the episodic formula so far.
Art 8/10
Very beautiful and creepy when it needs to be, I quite enjoyed it
I’ll recommend this to people tentatively if you’re into messed up horror, where all the characters are mentally screwed in some way. Also an additional note is that Fujimoto apparently likes this one, so if you like his works then you might like this. I think there’s definitely some similarities, in a weird way.
I’m excited to see where it goes, and will probably update this as more chapters come out
