(Can't forget the waifus!) But some series don't follow a standard shounen formula, to the point of feeling like it belongs to another genre entirely. Seinen manga is targeted to males, has action, philosophy, psychological elements, maybe some realistic romance. These are manga that are super wholesome and sweet! Many of these also have good anime adaptations! While the gender of authors doesn’t matter in either way or demographic, I have always been fascinated about female mangaka who have managed to weave incredible stories among male competitors in the Shounen genre.
