Not historically accurate, very minimal to no fantasy.

Time period ranges from around 400BC to the early 20th Century.

Berserk for instance, would not qualify due to its prominent fantasy setting.

All entries are set in Historical Europe or a very similar setting. Vagrant Soldier Ares qualifies as it takes place in a setting very similar to ancient Rome.

Series that are heavily overlooked on MAL (at the time of writing, under 2k members). Most, if not all of them are also underrated. Will likely add series in the future as I read them.

A collection of works that emphasize children's innocence, naivety and vulnerability exposed to the harsh reality they find themselves in. Tragedy does not limit itself to death, but extends toward theme of emotional abuse, exploitation, psychological trauma, environmental conditioning and whatnot.

Caveats:

• Some entries contain explicit materials, including gore and sexual content.
• Manga formats vary from one-shot, anthology, short and full-length series.
• If there are suggestions, I'll include it in regardless of not having read yet.

Yo besties, I've been having a challenge of reading short manga.
so I thought of creating interest stacks for this challenge.
Some of the manga I've listed in the challenge aren't in MAL so I will list them in the description.
Each set (currently there are 15, and it continues) has 49 entries, and the manga vary in genres and popularity.
All of the manga are 1-5 volumes long, and I would love to see other people participating in this challenge!

Art Nouveau first emerged in the late 19th century, thriving as a reaction to industrialization and mass production that is why artists and designers sought to return to craftsmanship, emphasizing organic forms, nature-inspired motifs, and decorative details. This movement celebrated individuality and artistry, rejecting the rigidity of industrial design.

Art Nouveau was not confined to a single medium—it flourished in architecture, graphic design, illustration, and even furniture. This universality made it a global phenomenon, captivating audiences with its elegance and intricate detailing.

Manga series with covers that feature recurring design and composition elements, consistent art styles, gradual changes that show intent and overall harmony of the entire collection. I'm open to suggestions, I try not to add too many “standing character” situations, but will do so if the art is striking enough.
