Harems are my go to pleasure when it comes to mangas and it wouldn't be a far fetched thing to say that reading a good harem makes me happy. And it is not a lie too when I say that I was very much satisfied with this one.
Story is about our Mc, who might be the most gynophobic person there is. And one day he gets confessed to by 5 girls, all on the same day. And with a grand reveal it is told that 4 out of 5 of them are love eaters, which implied by the name itself, feast on the emotion of
...
love, thus making people unable to feel that emotion anymore.
So the plot is that what you would expect of a normal harem but there is some type of mystery mixed into this. You see some mild psychological warfare in between the story and while it is not that intense to overshadow the harem theme, it is still a damn good insert which compliments it to make it a bit different from all the others out there. There are twists which have an element of unpredictibility in them, making you even more invested in the story as you go on.
Now when we talk about art in a harem manga, it often refers to how well drawn the characters are and if their designs are interesting enough, especially that of girls. Who would want to read a harem with poor character designs of girls right? And I am glad to tell you that this passes on both the criteria. The scenes are well drawn and I liked the character design of all the characters.
About the character themselves, the Mc is decent, atleast he is not annoying, because as far as harems go, the probability of getting a protagonist that is not annoying is very less. About the girls and while some of them reflect elements of common tropes in their behaviour, they are so subtle which makes them feel "not like the others". The story has not progressed that far as to introduce us to some side characters except the sensei.
Very good pretty far, just hoping it to not get axed. Hope I didn't jinx it too.
