both use deception and lie to protect people and maintain justice. The difference is Itsuwaribito sets in ancient Japan but Ana no Mujina sets in modern society

The smart 'evil' genius. Both series have a MC that does bad for the sake of good and got quite the heavy atmosphere at times. But don't let that scare you away. IU also have quite a few fun and loving moments among the depths of the story and I'm 87% sure you will love the serie.

Very similar feel, the plot is also slightly similar. Both series contain a quest to find different parts of individual treasures (in Itsuwaribito there are special artifacts or something while in this you can see the treasures as the individual tattoo maps) that lead to a greater treasure altogether. Both series are set in the past and have interesting casts that travel from place to place. I haven't finished Golden Kamuy yet as of writing this recommendation, but Itsuwaribito also has darker themes as the story progresses which might appeal to readers of both series.

In both Kurosagi and Itsuwaribito the main character is a swindler who swindles swindlers (sort of) and helps other people with it. The setting though is completly different with kurosagi taking place in the "present" japan and itsuwaribito in about the sengoku period. Still a recommendation because of the similar main characters.

It is true that they both have very different storylines and are different in many different ways, but they are both very similiar. One way is that the main characters both face dark times. They both have something they want to protect. Utsuho travels a lot helping people while Ciel and Sebastian help out the queen. They both gain allies on the way and face many hardships. They both have great animation and have a great storyline. Although they have many differences, such as the fact that their personalities are complete polar-opposites, they both are very amazing. So read it!

Both series' setting takes place in a historical era where the main character is part of an adventure with shounen themes. Their journey takes them to new places as they encounter new friends and enemies. There's plenty of action with some unorthodox fighting tactics present in both series as well. Itsuwaribito◆Utsuho◆ is also known for some slightly darker themes later on in the story.

They both have people who uses deception as a weapon/tool. In hammer session, The main protagonist was a Con artist who got a job as a teacher to help the students. While in Itsuwaribito wanders the land using deception to help others. Their deception is pretty sophisticated so if you like itsuwaribito you may also like Hammer session

Both are stories of a character who set out on a journey where they help others using their wit.
