Shinigami, literally meaning god of death （死神）, is essentially the Japanese equivalent of the Grim Reaper and is one of the many popular personifications of death. Aside from the obvious, shinigami are also associated with suicide. Here is a selection of manga that features a form of this popular mythical figure in Japanese pop culture.

- Just because it has sex and/or drugs doesn't mean it's good. I might be willing to consider rock'n'roll though.

- Characters having a bit more personality than just "designated love interest" might be revolutionary for shoujo, but I'm looking for slightly higher standard than that.

Whatever MAL marks as "shoujo" goes. Suggestions are welcomed.

I have read a lot of short stories and one–shots manga, like really a lot. What I like about it is to see how the author achieves to deliver an impactful and memorable story despite the short amount of pages. It's a difficult exercice a lot of one–shots and short manga fail in but when it's good, it becomes very enjoyable ! So here are the best works of this kind I have read so far.

PS : Shorts stories are also good when you don't have a lot of time available or when you have a short attention span lol
