Both Furuya Usamaru and Shuzo Oshimi seems to have a knack for exploring the psyche of high school girls, and they both do it great. There are even greater similarities here but revealing them would be a bit of a spoiler, so be sure to read them both and find out.

Abe Youichi and the early works of Usamaru Furuya shares many similarities in the obsession of tragedy and finding the comedy in it. If this is your cup of tea then by all means go ahead and drink it, but don't blame me if it's salty.

Garden, Plastic Girl and Chronicles of the clueless age all stem from Usamaru Furuyas early and wild period where he was exploring themes of violence, power, sex, mental issues and adolescence. Plastic Girl is the most abstract, Garden is the most far out and gruesome, while Chronicles of the clueless age really wraps it up neatly without any excessive trigger warning-rated material, while still being able to touch upon the great mysteries of life. All three are highly recommended.

Arigatou could fit as one of the growing up stories in Chronicles of the Clueless Age, if you survive the harsh beginning of the manga. These two are great coming of age stories that are very recommended.

Many of the themes that are touched upon in Chronicles of the clueless age are also explored in Oyasumi Punpun, both do it with great refinement and are really worth reading.

Both manga contain different dreamy/trippy short stories, Palepoli is more comedic, while Shounen Shoujo Hyouruuki portraits common problems in a bizarre yet creative way. Both are made by the same author except Shounen Shoujo Hyouryuuki was written in collaboration with Otsu Ichi, another great similar author.
