Both main characters have to deal with being hassled by their fellow students and are named after some form of plant (Tanpopo [Imadoki!] - dandelion, Makino [HYD] - weed) Both main characters share a love interest in cold men who have suffered difficult pasts. Some similar plot developments between the relationships.

The friendship + comedy between the main characters [Kyoko and her best girl-friend, as well as Tanpopo and her best girl-friend] are quite similiar. (Going from the other hating the main character -> to acceptance & love ^_^) Also, both main girls are strong-willed, hilarious, weird/different, and very influential. There are also "love triangles". [SkipBeat- Ren&Sho, Imadoki- Tanpopo&Erika]. Well, if you love one, you'll love the other.

Both main characters originate from Hokkaido and move to Tokyo for higher prospects. Tanpopo and Najika are both strong and cheerful heroines, and their love interests do their best to support them in their endeavors. As Kitchen Princess focuses on cooking, Imadoki concentrates more on gardening.

Both are by Yuu Watase, and both are romantic stories with a good balance of both comedy and seriousness. Although Imadoki! doesn't have the same fantasy twist as Zettai Kareshi, it's still a beautiful and touching romance tale that I would recommend to any Zettai Kareshi fan, as well as any Watase fan in general.

Both are about girls who start at a new school and change it for the better by being themselves. Also, both face ridicule because they are different from the general school body, but later they are accepted.

In both stories, at first, the main character is disliked, Sawako because of her scary appearance and Tanpopo because she's from the countryside. However these optimistic girls don't give up in making friends and finding love.

Both are very cute shoujo manga that involve flowers as a plot device to represent growth of the character. The main characters are very different in personality though, so it's not just like the same story with different names.

Similar premise about a country girl, moving to a new town, in a new environment. The story involves the main characters to deal with their differences and understand each other feelings.

Popular guy meets weird girl, though the story is set in a magic setting. It's much more entertaining than Imadoki!

- enjoy story - heroine getting bullies at first - cheerful person that never give up - triangle love - main problem revolves in school

The similarity lies in a young working class background girl going into a ridiculously rich school where the students there live outrageous life styles. There are similarities in supporting characters but the two main male leads are very different. In Imadoki we find a serious handsome young male with a hidden sweet side whilst in Ouran we have the over enthusiastic male lead who everyone loves. The female leads are very different too - although both have a kind side to them whilst they live in their way - a lonely life. If you enjoyed the fun and games in the ridiculously rich place of ouran that overlapped  read more

A girl in a rich school... in Imadoki the girl is not wealthy though - she just came to the elite school, while in Venus the girl is now the elite. . .

Both stories have poor girls going to elite schools and being bullied there but also finding love and acceptance.

By the same author, it holds the same charms, style and has another incredible story. The characters are just as inspiring. While the story is fantasy, everyone is just as believable. FY was, in fact, my introduction to Watase. Warning: Only books 1-13 are really really good. 14-18 aren't so.

Same touching human story with a dash of romance.

Both are by the same author, but with dramatically different plot lines. Despite this, there is a similar feel to both manga. A must read if you like Watase-sensei's work.
reportRecommended by Akaike
Both main characters are entering a school which highly recognizes standards (pedigree), and they are depreciated for this reason. There is also a bit of sibling rivalry in both plots.

They both are your basic romance stories with bits of comedy in between.

If you've read one of these series you gotta try and check out the other. Both are slice of life and light hearted genre. Both heroines moved from the country to study in the city. Weird as it seems there is a vague flower theme in both, Someday's Dreamer ~Summer Skies~ have Sunflower whilst in Imadoki have Dandelion. Both series are easy to get into, a nice change from the usual genre you read.

the kids are really mean to the girl in both mangas, so it is very similar
