May My Father Die Soon it's not a story for everyone given the subjects it tackles. If you're not sensible to these topics and decide to read it, you'll find youself with a very dark and crude story.
Overall this is a 7.5/10 and I can't wait to see the newest chapters to be translated because I'm curious about the actor's intent to continue her story. The first 12 chapters have been a great foundation so far.
With that out of the way, SPOILERS AHEAD.
**TRIGGER WARNINGS**
...
Sexual and physical abuse, pedophilia, incest.

Art: 8/10. The atmosphere is as intended on the mood the mangaka wants to give to the scenes, the characters are very expressive and it’s main strength is on those character emotional outbursts. I can only complain that there is not that much of those memorable panels but there were a few, which is a shame given that the author knows how to make their characters convey their emotions. Nitpick more than anything.
Characters: 7/10. Asuka and Hotaru are our main characters in this story.
-Asuka is the older sister and the one being taken advantage and abused by her father, she gives the vibes of a real victim and she's well written. She's not strong and you can feel the anxiety of her inability to get out of her situation, even siding with her abuser at some point.
-Hotaru is the young sister and she is always mindful of the situation so she tries to do everything to cheer up her sister. She has a blind rage against her father for abusing Asuka. She can feel a bit more mature than her age sometimes which can feel a bit unnatural, however that’s exactly why she’s the best character in this manga.
-The Father: The abuser, he only cares about having an excuse to beat any woman on his family and his sexual drive is disgusting.
-Kei: He likes Asuka, weakest character so far but he's not terrible, just underdeveloped.
-Honorable mention to the police for being the most inoperative beings on the planet, which pains me to see given that they can only seem to catch a clue if there are 50 people as witnesses.
Story: 8/10. There is something very real around this story that I cannot shake off. It's not your cliché abuse story. Asuka's struggle is very real and she does not have the strenght to get out of that place.
Hotaru on the other hand is strong-willed and hasn’t suffered the abuse to the extent of asuka’s, but Hotaru has presenced the things that has happened in that house. She honestly feels more of a main protagonist than Asuka, she drives the plot forward more than anyone on the whole manga.
Their mom leaving the house while blaming the victim of sexual abuse was not great plot-wise but I’ve seen this trait being used before. Although that does not excuse her for not having the mere common sense of doing what’s right and calling the police and not blaming her child.
The father’s story was fine. I’ve seen here and there that people hate the manga because they think of the father’s chapter as the author’s way to justify his abuse towards Asuka. but I really feel it’s the opposite, he is never going to be forgiven by his daughters and it’s better for them to understand his background for them to overcome trauma and see the whole picture.
Enjoyment: 7.5/10. This manga does everything well but the pacing, as 12 chapters were a bit short to develop this story (a very good one either way). It was a bit disturbing and it always kept me hooked to get through the whole manga.
Overall: 7.5/10.
I can only just hope this story keeps moving forward and we get a further development of the plot on the concept of post-trauma, it’s effect on the psychology of the victim on adulthood and more. As it stands, it’s a half decent story, with the greatest flaw of being way too fast paced for its own good.
