Minor spoilers
Our Class Idol is a short story about two members of The BOYZ kpop group, Hyunjae and Younghoon, being in a love triangle with a girl named Yeoju. It was written by Park Tae-Jun of Lookism fame and is easily his weakest work to date.
Hyunjae is a quiet yet observant Idol who happens to be a childhood friend of Yeoju. Younghoon is a talented dancer with stage fright. One day Yeoju catches Younghoon dancing on his own, records him, then blackmails him into hanging out with her. The story follows the development of their relationship which was lacking to say the least. Yeoju is

supposed to be this sweet bubbly girl who gets bullied, but this is contrasted with the way she treats Younghoon. None of the characters go beyond the surface level. There are 2 other girls in the plot who are bullied and have crushes on the idols, but they're one note bullies who wear a mask to hide their true nature. The progression of Yeoju and Younghoon's relationship doesn't make any sense. There is no reason for Younghoon to start developing feelings for the person blackmailing him. Sure, she treats him nice, but real friends don't hold a private video over your head. You can decide for yourself if you agree with the outcome of their story. Hyunjae's growth is limited to his feelings about Yeoju. The goals are shallow and have no weight to them making the story extremely boring. This is likely because of it only being eight chapters but it's possible to make a short story with depth of character.
The pacing is fast, but understandably so as it's trying to get to the point. The art is fine and reminiscent of early Lookism. There are plenty of reused poses and assets from PTJ's other works. For example, every dance move one of the Idols pulled was one Daniel did in the Idol training arc of Lookism, not to mention there are only ever 3 dance moves. Our Class Idol is also filled with tropes. Bullied girl gets with Idol boy. Love triangle jealousy. A music festival. A makeover scene where Yeoju gets her glasses taken off and hair extensions and is like, "omg I never knew I was so pretty." There is no new ground tread or many ideas developed upon. This comic's only reason for existence is to promote The BOYZ and reads like a Wattpad self insert fanfiction.
Boring characters with a main character who is terrible. Reused assets. Trope filled. These are all the issues Our Class Idol has. But really, it's not THAT bad. Only read it if you like The BOYZ or want to read all of PTJ's works. Even if you're reading all of his works, you can skip this one.
