!!First of all, want to clarify one thing. The manhwa is not adapting from the novel completely. Bastian is totally different - from what happened up until now. Season 1 just finished and things are looking good, without any toxic behaviour.
The story is about Odette, who happens to meet Bastian at a gambling incident of her father where he used as bet his own daughter. With some complications, they end up in a need of marrying (they make a contract) in order to benefit eachother.

is not a douchebag. He is indeed mean at some point, but if you think about it, most royal characters from manhwas are like that, because of their pride, how they grew up and stuff like that.
I recommend this manhwa to anyone who likes fantasy-romance stories and wants to read and admire a beautiful art used on a very good story.
