Black Lagoon and Darker than Black: Shikkoku no Hana are pretty similar manga. Both manga have a similar setting and involve mercenaries. Both have similar art styles as well to boot. Darker than Black: Shikkoku no Hana has a lot more supernatural stuff going on and is slightly more violent, so keep that in mind. While I can recommend both, watch at least the first season of the Darker than Black anime before trading Darker than Black: Shikkoku no Hana. I got very similar vibes from both manga, so I can assume that fans of one will like the other.

Created by Yuuji Iwahara, expect quite a bit of similarities from both series. The main male protagonist has a cold personality and often portrayed as a lone wolf to get jobs done. Their job also deals with dangerous individuals as they try to make a difference in their worlds. Both series' fictional world setting also explores individuals with special abilities acquired by mysterious means. There is a decent amount of action with story building. Recommended for fans interested in sci-fi thrillers.

Although the mood of both manga titles feels different, both series features espers and individuals with special abilities. Both series involves a group of characters who are involved with events around the city that they reside in and often deals with dangers. Yet, they try to help others and solve such cases against others who uses esper powers for dangerous purposes. Both manga series has action, super power themes, and drama. The main protagonist in both series are also strong, independent, and devoted to what they believe in.

Both Shikkoku no Hana and King of Thorn are engaging and deep stories by Iwahara Yuji. Both are drawn with his clear and unique art style, and both tell stories that are considerably dark and similarly explore the human psyche while going on at an incredible pace. King of Thorn is a must for any readers with self respect (:P), and Shikkoku is not to be missed for any fans of Darker than Black.
