Kokuhaku no Jikan+ was an unexpected read. As the synopsis implies, it's a fairly simple story. Imada gets close to Urashima for no particular reason, ends up falling in love with him and announces to him he's gonna confess on the next day. And that's where things start to fall apart.
Due to unforeseen events, Imada isn't able to make his first confession the way he wanted to and from then on, the circumstances of their "friendship" change abruptly. The first two chapters focus a lot on Imada's point of view and it's really interesting, especially considering their new situation, to see how he feels and
...
deals with all the change in their lives.
However, the most interesting part of this manga might be the third and last chapter, where we take a break from Imada and go to Urashima's pov instead. His feelings and thoughts are very well written and really show that just because you rationally know something is for the best, it doesn't mean it can't make you feel miserable.
The art isn't anything out of this world but it does the job.
Overall, it's a very short but also a very intriguing manga. The start can feel a bit odd and it all happens very fast, but it's worth the read if you're looking for a change of pace.
