Extremely disappointing power fantasy slop. The concept is cool, but falls flat on the execution part. This is the type of series that tries to use common tropes found in power fantasy Manhwa like from weak to strong, but doesn´t try to do anything different with them. Battle scenes were cool at the start and I was really looking forward to how they would develop later on. However the way how the author decided to go forward with the plot really felt insulting to a viewer. That is because of two reasons. Power Creep and Deus Ex Machina moments.
Every fight in this series seems to
...
follow the same pattern. The MC or his "friends" get their ass kicked by a "very strong guy" then the MC literally pulls some random card that will win the fight for them. This starts to get really ridiculous when half of the fights are literally RNG where the MC crafts a new card middle of the battle and WOW!?! its the epic card that will win the fight. This gets very tedious quickly and is worsened when they introduced "awakening" into the series. This is because every character in the series has a set of stats that can increase by cards or awakening. Awakening is achieved apparently by getting their asses totally kicked and then they get so angry that they literally grow in strength and speed in terms of stats + they get a new op card that literally wins them the fight every time they are used. These cards also have "cooldown" periods, but the author forgot to add anything that indicates a "passage of time". Card X can only be used once a week, but gets used on the same day twice. WHY?!?!.
Then there is the Power Creep issue. Every enemy is stronger than before. At first it was okay because the MC is growing right? Well the problem is that they literally don´t stop growing ever. It´s like every real enemy is a huge raid boss that requires ganging up on in order to be defeated. At some point it gets so ridiculous with the stats that there are like 50 people that have 100x the power level of an average person.
also the setting makes zero sense as there are three or four high schools where the students are having constant fights. I get that it´s a battle manga, but there were literally zero moments of school staff members even noticing that their students are fighting around the school. It´s like the faculty members disappear completely when they are having a fight in middle of the classroom.
