The first forty forty chapters (Season One) are fairly enjoyable, but after that comes the lazy choice in ML and utter disregard to the plot. With these two failures hinting to get worse, I dropped it.
FL = Anissa
ML = Dietrich (hence spoiler warning)
(Remaining spoilers are kept vague and anything else is learned within the first three chapters and/or synopsis. The writing is indeed simple enough to do this.)
.
Because FL was born with red eyes, her parents didn't want her so she was incidentally kidnapped/saved by ML's then-pregnant mother who comes from a place that favors red eyes. ML's mother suffers a

miscarriage/dies during this ordeal so FL was adopted into an Estate that takes Survival of the Fittest to the extreme, to the extent they sell their souls to the devil. Literally, they have their pick depending on individual strength. Best yet, in order to become the official heir, their test requires them to sacrifice something precious/dear/close to them.
Now, the main focus of this story is the fact FL was reborn into this world with her memories intact, presented as a typical Romantic Fantasy novel; re: isekai'd. This gives the stories a lot of plot relying solely on this trope and it made good use of it. FL knows her standing in the Estate, she knows far more than a neglected-from-birth child would as she grows up, and she manipulates ML to see her as a loving younger sister.
That's right: she makes it so ML comes to love her. As a literal sister.
Are they blood-related? Nope.
Do they regard one-another as siblings? Mostly.
Did the author create a convincing sibling relationship? Incredibly so.
The author of this series fell for the lazy convenience of the ML not being a new character 40+ chapters in. That, alone, costs most readers their attention. However, there's an even larger concern at play (or, not) :
The writing stops caring about the whole Survival of the Fittest bit. ML was essentially the heir by the end of Season One, save the sacrifice part of the trial to do so, but there's an insinuation he's found a way to overcome it. Or something similar. Whatever it is, there's no need to worry about it. Better yet, the whole "kill your siblings starting their first year anniversary" schtick doesn't even matter to the one fully evil in that Estate - ML's dad/FL's (adoptive) dad. He just lets things be, FL feels pretty comfortable. Yay.
But that's not what the story was about. Nothing was resolved. Like, effectively nothing.
Well, other than the fact FL got ML to love her as a sister. Which, due to the messed-up nonsense that is rarely interacting with anyone outside of the Estate most his life, he's decided he loves as a woman. 'cause, yeah, he knows they're not blood-related. And, yeah, despite the fact FL truly saw/raised him to be her big brother for real. The SOLE okay-ness of this turn of events is, of course, they do indeed not resemble the other. Especially her.
