With the return of the same creator of Gakkou no Juliet a favorite of mine, I expected something special with this manga. It starts off with a world of magic and every person has a certain trait based on what star sign they are born with and basically becomes your family name as well. The magical system in the world is quite the interesting mix to add astrology as the main and primary basis.

The character at times is a joy to watch their coven develop and get to know each other. While the characters are expressive and distinct from one another this manga is ... reliant of tropes and such. As well as the comedy aspect, while it gave me a chuckle and smiles here and there, it really depends on how you take your comedy and it's not for everyone to enjoy.

While at first my expectations of this were low in the few chapters thinking this manga doesn't really take itself seriously so I won't need to take it too seriously as well, but I was wrong. Though I disagree with the method to execute it, it expands on the lore and story more after a certain point. But it also comes back to be lighthearted after a heavy arc.

This is where I disagree how it handled heavy stuff kind of in a distasteful way. It doesn't let you ease in into the heavy part and it just suddenly dives you in. A roller coaster that just has a sudden drop with no anticipation. With the criticism out of the way I still enjoy some parts of this manga.

And as always, the authors art is still a treat to behold and rare panels that includes extra color which some manga doesn't have or probably the 1st one I've saw.

My first review here on MAL, and since this one didn't have a review I thougt about being the first.
So, to summarize for those who only will read the first 4 lines, this manga is good, like very good. First it's really beautiful and the landscapes and city atmosphere are well draw. Second, the main character is really funny as well as being wholesome. Also, this manga has the adventure vibes all showing, with misterious plots and a great lore based on the zodiac. I would say this fits right at the genres Adventure-Magic-Comedy-Fantasy-School, with some comedy (although it can be child humor sometimes).



For those ... who want to have a throughout review, I cannot give a conclusion since this manga only has 26 chapters at the moment I am posting this. So far we have a girl who at first can't do magic in a very much Harry Potter world (or any other witch school setting you can imagine). As the story continues, we are introduced to her soon-to-be companion and mentor the black cat, Claude if you want a name. The narrative has good pacing, it's never too slow and at least it makes you understand a bit more about the characters and their backgrounds. There are a bunch of side character who are slowly introduced and treated with great care, so there is no forgotten or one time characters.
The only issued (but really just a small one) so far is some jokes, which might threw some people off. I personally liked and laughed almost at every single one, but some are there just for a easy laugh.
Overall, has a great potential to become a hit and I hope more people starts reading so we can have a anime adaption soon.
