This is the most realistic portrayal of the trope "delinquent boy and bullied girl" I have ever read. If you enjoy elements of realism then you should definitely check this out. The interaction and chemistry between the main characters are really similar to how real-life people would do while still keeping the sweet taste of high school love.
I have always found manga of the similar trope so sugarcoated - like how the delinquent boy will always have such a clean look (their edginess is just from their piercings, which isn't much) and their personality is like bubbly, golden sunshine with some ocassional fighting scene
...
1 vs 10 or sth like that. Or either they are too aggressive, like putting on a show to convince readers that yeh this guy is a delinquent.
But the ML here just ticks all the boxes. He IS a delinquent, looks rough and has a clear background of how he becomes a delinquent. Plus, his progression with the FL is natural (He is not forcing himself on her). For the FL, she is bullied for her incompetence so my problem with her is that she hasn't shown much character development. In one chapter, she did try to study better in order not to ruin the score of a groupwork activity but we never get to see the result of it. This makes the readers feel like the FL isn't trying at all - she doesn't defend herself, she doesn't try to gain respect from her schoolmates through her academic improvement.
That being said, the two main characters still have great chemistry and they really are what a caring and healthy couple would look like so far. It's refreshing too, because its tone isn't a rose-tinted spectacles - it reflects social issues in Japanese while giving hope through their romantic relationship, that they've got each other back.
The art isn't a strong point of this manga - I guess that's why it doesn't receive much attention despite its good plot and dialogues. I really enjoy this series content-wise so I really hope the author would keep working on it.... It was released in 2019 yet there are only 4 chapters.....
