The Illustrations are the exact same. Both titles hook you right at the beginning and never let you stop turning the pages. They are both short chapter-quick reads I would call them. Enjoy!

Policial thrillers, where a wrongly accused fugitive and a young girl get involved in an intense chase for a sociopath, that is closely related to their past. While Monster is more psychological, Strain is more violent and explicit, but both stories are dark, thrilling and filled with twists.

Although The Breaker is more focused on martial arts, both manga have extremely well-done art and have a plot centered on the protagonists challenging powerful organizations in power. They are very different overall, but have a similar tone and outlook on their subject matter.

The two manga series complement each other with their similarities of stories that are at times brutally violent and depict scenes that make one's skin crawl. If you are looking for a deep psychoanalysis of the male ego, then these are not the manga you are looking for. You'll be treated to a journey of crazy outlaws trying to create chaos and achieve their own selfish sense of order.

Both feature the same author Buronson, and same artist Ryoichi Ikegami. While both stories feature lots of hard boiled action and drama, and life on the streets.
