I have seen that the series have received unfavorable comments due to the graphic intercourse between a woman and a snake deity so I'm here to balance out the view. That is to say, I love the story. It's a great read for me! (don't know what this says about me tho...)

I think the intimate depiction really adds to the charm of the story which already has intriguing plot, dark but alluring art and a diverse set of characters. And I feel like the intercourse is built upon trust and love between the characters so I'm surprised that people can feel put off by that, ... just because he's a snake :'( He is snake with a rich personality and he's also a doting husband duh :'( And it's not like the scene is depicted with an oversexualized, degrading tone or anything. Miyo completely stole my heart!! I can totally understand why Daija is enamoured with her.

Each to their own ofc, but I feel an obligation to defend this story - its originality is worth an experience so I don't want it to get omitted. So if you can handle a quirky story with a reasonable amount of bestiality, then don't miss out!!

WARNING this is a very mature manga (NSFW), I started it randomly because I went onga bonga, big snake and what I am left with is a feeling of just, wtf.

First of all, it has themes of sacrifice, death, prostitution, grape and more, it is a pretty dark but well-thought-out manga, though at times I felt a little sick reading it. Some scenes were really heavy like the story of Kinu (side character) and her struggles to survive as well as the (future) monks' backstory.

Story 9/10, The story is pretty deep, it's about a girl that is sacrificed to a giant snake the ... 'deity' of this village and how she becomes his husband. It does sound a little boring but it is so much more than that, I personally just do not know how to explain it without spoilers. It is well thought out and the character's backgrounds are developed nicely. You need to have a strong gut to read this though. But overall even though it's unusual I personally found this bizarre read very interesting.

Art 9/10, the style is unique, I haven't really seen manga with this style before and I personally like it, though some scenes are so detailed it makes you feel weird (such as the teeth when the snake tail goes into her mouth chapter 20). But that's the beauty of the art style, some of the more NSFW scenes r also beautifully depicted like an artwork in itself.

Characters 9/10 They are so well fleshed out, not much to complain about, I just feel the female MC is a little ditsy/boring at times but the rest are pretty amazing.

OVERALL I would give this a 9/10 but some of the scenes are a bit graphic for my liking, the NSFW scenes are weird and some of the backstories are so depressing that I will have to lower my score to a 7-8/10. It was a weird read and you need to be in the right mindset to read something like this. Also, I'm not really into the whole snake x human thing. But if it's something that interests you go for it.
Personally, I will continue reading this in the future just to see the development of the characters such as the main female lead and Daija (snake deity).

Okay, listen. I know this one sounds like a completely WILD josei.

And I know you're hesitant to pick this up because of the...well, theme. I'd lie if I said I, too, wasn't reluctant to give this series a try.

Turns out this is a very well-structured, properly thought out josei with a fantastic approach to character exploration. Oh yeah, and the graphic stuff is contained within 2.5 chapters (out of the 30 currently out). They're surely a handful, but you can skip them and get to the tamer part easily.

If I were to use one word to describe this manga, it ... would be 'unpredictable'. At no point in the plot progression did I know what would happen next. And whenever it happened, it didn't seem out of place. The story is layered in a very engaging way. I would say this series would work exceptionally well as a book, as in - proper literature. I can't say the same for many other manga series, so consider this as a heavy vouch for giving it a read.

Keep in mind the overall atmosphere is rather dark. Sure, there are quite a few wholesome moments. However, a big chunk of the story deals with trauma, violence, psychological harassment, physical harassment (including rape), alienation etc. Somehow the author balances them well against each other, so expect to cross both ends of the emotional spectrum here.

If I were to describe the main theme in a sentence:

'Daija ni Totsuida Musume' explores humaneness where there shouldn't be any (Daija and similar creatures), and monstrous acts where we expect to see human beings.

This conceptual line unfurls deeper and deeper as the plot progresses. The manga is currently at a breaking point of sorts between these two worlds. In the center of this conflict, of course, is the FMC - not in the way you'd expect her to be.

If you're reluctant to give this a chance, I'd understand it. But don't judge it by the 'hurr durr bestiality, snek sex' brush some people paint it with. It's way more mature (as a story and cast) than that. Rather think of a more explicit and analytic take on some of the themes you'd encounter in works like 'Wolf Children' by Mamoru Hosoda.

8/10, I'm glad I suppressed my own hesitation as I usually dislike any graphic take on monster stuff.

Why? Why did I even picked up series featuring graphical sex with completely non anthropomorphic monster with two spike covered cocks? I don't know, but I do regret what I have seen there. Frankly, this series is utterly disgusting. I could have been a cecent story, if it spared us, viewers graphical sex scenes.

Is this series unique? It's a series where chick marries and bangs a giant snake monster. That's pretty unique, in a horrific sort of way. It's like watching riding forward and occasionally plowing straight through random cars left on tracks. A total disaster.

Do I recommend it ? No, why would I? It's ... basically a mental equivalent of bashing your head against the rocks.
