Protect me! Shugomaru is honestly one of the funniest manga I've read in recent times, especially in jump of all places. I had a heartfelt laugh, out loud, in 10 out of 12 chapters I've read so far. Even at work I couldn't contain myself, I had to have a good chuckle like an idiot.
It's a really lighthearted slapstick gag manga. It doesn't have amazing art or a storyline to speak of really, but it has instantly memorable and very unique looking characters that you can't help but love. There are some weirdly wholesome moments in there too as there often tend to be in

This is the worst manga I've ever read, and yes, I'm including random one-shots made by fan fic artists with 2,000 social media followers into this equation; Shogumaru is worse than those.

"Mamore! Shugomaru" or "Protect Me, Shugomaru!" is a Shounen Jump gag manga that brings little to no interesting traits to the reader. And that really sucks because when I stared reading the first three chapter of this series I thought "wow. it has a a week story but it will improve over time but its still semi funny!" Sadly. The story felt like it just didn't go anywhere. But just because its a gag manga, that doesn't mean it can't have a story. Look at "High School Family" a gag manga with an actually story and character growth mixed with some good jokes.
