So I won't include something such as Blue Period because the aestehthic doesn't fit but it does thematically. But this is an aesthethic, and since it's Eurocentric I have to be a bit liberal with my definition. The Year 24 Group (24-nen Gumi/Nijuuyonen Gumi, also called the Fabulous Year 24 Group/Hana no 24-nen Gumi or the Magnificent Forty-Niners), is a group of manga artists who rose to prominence in the early 1970s. They are credited with introducing complex themes such as psychology, sexuality, and politics into shoujo manga, which until that point was primarily simple stories for little girls written by men who would migrate to male demongraphics as they gained notability. Note: Due to the number of missing manga from the database I will add the ones that would be included in the stack at the bottom of this description. And will leave room in the stack for these manga in the case that they are added in the future. Here are all the shoujo manga I think one should read in order to cover all bases. I organized this list by general theme, with publishing series at the bottom. A variety of manga I've enjoyed and would recommend, that are each three volumes long. Give them a try! (Copy n pasted throughout all my yandere stacks) Mangas from different genres and demographies that will most likely leave a mark on you. Rich stories with strong characters and themes, sometimes uplifting, sometimes tragic, but stories worth telling. Beware of the TWs, lots of the mangas presented here contain delicate subjects featuring wealthy and high-class female characters (mostly they laugh like "OHOHOHOHO" and i'm here for it) This stack is for any manga prominently featuring sapphic characters that was published in a female-oriented manga magazine. Compilation of manga that i find interesting, some aren't labelled yuri but I included them for the tension and vibes. I tried to make it as varied as possible :> |
