This is simply one of my favorite one-shots that I've read and I can't help but keep coming back to it. It's always such a sweet read.
It's about a husband and wife and it's the typical plot of one is dying from cancer but it's about how one pushes others away, either by avoiding them or treating them differently, as a way to prevent the other from getting hurt. The story follows the husband as he finds out why his wife is so different as he tries to justify it to her basically dying till he finds out why she is being so cold and
...
it brings them together again. I love how the wife, though she's suffering the most here, thinks about her partner and how he might be in the future so she does her best to be cold and hide herself from him. It just shows how much she loves him and it's so sweet (but also pretty sad on how she's thinking so much on how he's feeling when she'll be gone that she just decides that she should suffer alone for his sake).
And the ending, though sad, is very sweet as he uses a picture of them crying rather than a picture that shows her with the usual smile as he wants her to be shown as how she was.
