Mugen Tengoku, as a one-shot, is fine. I understand there are some limitations considering it's a single chapter. But the overall experience was underwhelming for me. It has an intriguing premise, with a lukewarm twist/ending. Mugen Tengoku is about a woman named Yanagawa. She was cursed with the ability to multiply herself every six months. This came after she accidentally broke a cursed stone. These are perfect copies with her exact memories, by the way. There are no subtle differences between the original and any of the copies. I reread Mugen Tengoku about once a year (or maybe every six months, lol), not because it's the best thing I've ever read, I just find it endlessly fascinating, and find myself thinking about it every once in a while. It's merits aren't it's plot, art, or even the ending twist, though. For me, its the questions the manga brings up about death, art, consent, and what it means to be a unique individual, that I find the most compelling.
