In Giant Killing the East Tokyo United team is struggling in Japan's top football league. In an effort to improve their performance they have hired a new coach Tatsumi Takeshi. Like One Outs Tatsumi Takeshi uses tactics to out smart teams with bigger budgets and better players. Their is no gambling or tricks involved just strategy and tactics

Its a sports genre manga where the approach is completely different in comparison to general "rookie to professional" style ,and every panel of the manga compels you to read this for 8 straight hours

Both have the same author and both stories portray football in a very realistic manner by diving deep into the club, its management and the players. If you liked Giant killing you have to read this.

These two sport manga's tells the story of the journey of two football coaches who led their club back to winning ways and regained the trust of the fans/directors of the football association. Both coach attitude may be eccentric, but there's no one better around at turning underdog players into a giant-killing team. There is also great attention to detail technique when it comes to football match.

Both main protagonists are 'tactic-type' and working with very talented people, similar art work as well.

Aside from the fact that Last Inning is about Baseball and Giant Killing is about soccer, the 2 are actually very similar. Similarities: 1. Both are about clubs that have reached top national leagues in the past, but due to some circumstances, have fallen from glory. 2. Both are about a coach, with considerable mystery, and with unthordox training styles, train the players from near zero to hero, often with resistance from people affiliated with the clubs. 3. Both feature deposed former coaches being sidekicks to the new "special coach" (Lol). 4. Both have talented players respected by critics and coaches in the same industry, but are usually so  read more

Both are football mangas, pretty realistic. Long-running series, so for fans of the sport. Best believe you'll enjoy both mangas to the fullest. Although, Giant Killing involves a higher level of focus and realism, as well as an older squad.
