David—a scale model of Michelangelo's statue of the same moniker—is in love with a little girl named Marie. Given to her as a gift from her father, David has heart-shaped eyes and an unusual nether region that frighten the young Marie, prompting her to discard it in a dark drawer.

This saddens David, who wishes to be displayed alongside the other dolls in Marie's room. It decides to climb out of the drawer every night when she is asleep and pose among the toys. But what will happen if a thief breaks into Marie's room, and David is the only one that can stop them?

Chiaki Ogawa is a transgender man suffering from body dysphoria, living in the body of a 26-year-old woman. He spends his days helping his father slaughter boars while exploiting his feminine body for money by livestreaming the butchering process. He idolizes his father and aspires to become a hunter like him, but the parent only sees him as his daughter whom he must protect at all costs. When his father reveals that he has been living with colon cancer for over a year, Chiaki is left to choose between appeasing him and embracing his own true identity. With time running out, Chiaki must decide which life he wants to live.
