10/10. Yet, not recommended? Why? Exactly, because it is so well-written. Let me explain.
This manga is really difficult to digest. Actually one of the most disturbing manga what I've ever stumbled upon. It suffocating. It is a terrible experience to read, still it is masterfully written.
I'm pretty sure the one who wrote this manga had a first hand experience in some kind of extreme traumatic event in his life. This one is written so graphically, and the internal emotional rollercoaster is so perfectly captured, that it cannot be a coincidence. You really feel the mental breakdown of the characters, and it is horrific. True, the

Definetely not a story for the faint of heart!
Don't go into this if you can't stomach some like.. Really messed up shit. Trigger warning for like pretty much everything you can think of. Light spoilers ahead in this review. Kedamonotachi no Jikan is about Airi a young model that gets kidnapped by a stalker to imprison her, physically and mentally torture and rape her on a daily basis. [spoiler] Airi has the will to endure and escape this hell but she and her kidnapper eventually bond over their traumatic past and a kind of stockholm syndrome scenario ensues... [spoiler end] ... If I had to describe it in one word, it would be "INSANE."
One of my friends told me not to read this manga because it's too dark, but I read it anyway. I wanted to know how dark it can be, and holy shit! It was really dark. It's definitely not for faint-hearted people. The story is related to Stockholm syndrome. Anything more than this might be a spoiler. The story is nuts. It has a good plot twist. Every chapter, you will feel like, "What's happening? This is horrible." but you won't be able to resist pressing the "next chapter", and before you know it, ... Jun 16, 2022
Im not gonna lie. I have a mentally derange mind when I say this is a fetish of mine. The concept of this. Kidnapper x victim. its a fetish that I indulged on so heavily. Killing stalking, warehouse, shiiku x kanojo. Those type of stories where the rapist x victim “romance” always gets to me cause the author writes it as if to make you want them together but since morals. You know they can’t be together and if they are gonna be together then its bad writing.
Obviously its bad. But thats why its so good. You know. no matter how it ends up. You ... Dec 4, 2023
I...I don't even know why I decided on reading this. It's just wrong in so many ways. However, I can see the meaning for those who have been abused in their childhood in a very explicit manner. I've served in the Army, seen some pretty messed up things. The fact that this manga made my gut squirm is because of the fact that this literally can happen to anyone. On many notes, I can't recommend this because of the great dark aspect of abuse this manga uses. However, if you can stomach it and read this. By all means, have at it. If I could

I know that a lot of people hated this kind of theme and although I've read a lot of worse manga on the internet, this is the only one that made me stop reading to just take a breather and think 'what the fuck is happening'. The writing is brilliant, and the characters are all well-written, especially Airi and Imai. You can see how they portray the emotions of Airi as she goes through emotional turmoil that is stacking on her head as the story goes on.
I can agree that this type of story is not for everyone, that's for sure as the themes ... Oct 23, 2024
Amazing writting, complex multi faceted characters, lovely protagonist, sensible and moral navigation through hard topics, an overall 10/10 psychological horror drama. I don't recommend it unless you really got the guts to witness a countless number of explicit abuses going on your screen.
Don't get me wrong, this is NOT a fetish story or something like that, that's some real to the core psychological horror drama. You'll cry, you'll get angry, you'll get anxious for the characters. The amount of explicit depiction of abuse is absolutely necessary to truly get the whole picture of how grotesque the situation our main characters are facing really is, ... May 17, 2023
30 minutes and a pretty good sandwich later and I'm still shaking.
I feel like that says it all but that's not quite long enough for a review so I guess I'll try my best to write like this is a normal review. Story (10) I'm pretty sure I read the first chapter of this about 2 years ago and found it too disgusting to continue, but today I picked it back up and read 31 chapters in one sitting. The reason that I had so much trouble reading this at first is how realistic it is, and that reason also goes for why I read so much. ... Jul 23, 2023
TW: sexual assault, sexual abuse, physical assault, murder, gore, kidnapping, stalking, incest, trauma
This is a NASTY nasty manga. It is "good" as far as horror goes, with a twisted stockholm syndrome/trauma bonding aspect, though sometimes I think the author indulges too much into basically what could be described as "trauma p*rn". The story is actually not terrible but I think the author should have ended it after the first arc, or at chapter 12. It would have been the perfect poetic justice, though NOT a happy ending (tbh I don't think its possible for any truly happy ending). I'm keeping up with the story still, and ... |
