All My Darling Daughters was a surprising slice of life manga with a touch of feminism. The manga showcases imperfect women, mothers, and daughters in a collection of short stories. The stories explore the lives of each women and the choices that they have before them as they enter adulthood.

Each chapter features a different woman, related in some way to the main character, Yukiko. The story starts with Yukiko and her mother Mari, a widow for many years that suddenly marries a second time, this time to a younger man and former host. It’s a bittersweet story that sets the tone for the rest of ...

This book was awesome! I found it at the library and figured it would be some kind of sappy romance, but it's actually quite interesting. It weaves together the stories of several women all centered around one particular family. Each chapter focuses on a different relationship, either mother-daughter or someone's love life. We see how behaviors get passed from generation to generation and how peoples' pasts affect their presents. The character development is fantastic, especially for only being one volume. I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone that likes to read slice-of-life stories with drama and humor with a definite ...

"Forgiving and Loving are all different things"

Despite only being six chapters long, this manga manages to weave a deceivingly complex story about family, aspiration and reevaluating ones self and their relationship after walking down forgotten memory lane. All six chapters contains different stories with recurring or related characters.

Each story is fascinatingly insightful about human lives. This Fumi Yoshinaga masterpiece delivers on every level. It balances the light humor with amazing social commentary and insightful interaction. Also this manga has one of the best closing interaction I've read in any manga.Out of the stories, the second one was a bit too weak and holds it off from being a 10/10 instead of ...

Mixed Feelings
I found out about this manga via the Book Riot website and I have to be honest when reading the whole thing, I really felt it should’ve focused more on the first story than creating other ones that don’t really relate. Anyways it’s basically about a 30 year old salary woman Yukiko who still lives at home but her mother remarried a young man who’s 3 years younger than Yukiko. Yukiko doesn’t trust the guy since he was a host beforehand and the relationship with her mum is not going according to plan. That’s why Yukiko decides to move out. We then see the other ...
