It often overlaps with other genres such as fantasy, black comedy, and science fiction, while the genre is closely related with the psychological horror and psychological thriller genres. Psychological dramas use these genres tropes to focus on the human condition and psychological effects, usually in a mature and serious tone. Go Nagai's Devilman is one of the most influential manga of all time. A seminal effort in both themes and tone, it set the standard and paved the way for the gory, edgy stories popular today among the teenagers and young adults. You'd be surprised just how many of them trace their thematic lineage to the ol' Devilboi. The Masked Man is an American YouTuber who makes videos primarily about manga, but also anime, and very occasionally video games. He does in-depth analysis on the subjects he talks about. Here is his top 50 manga. This stack also includes manga that are not listed as "Psychological" in mal database but they still have psychological elements in them E.g. Shoujo Fujuubun. - I would have added all of Junji Ito's work but it would fill the entire stack so I only added a few~ Body horror also known as organic horror and bio-horror is a sub-genre of horror in cinema and literature, characterized by special attention to the human body and its transformations. Typical body horror motifs are various diseases, decay, parasitism, mutation and transformation, experiments with the human body and the creation of monsters like Frankenstein's monster. From action fantsy, romance, isekai, and thriller, they’re all in here. Some are manhwa I’ve lost track of and had to restart recently so it’s definitely been very fun to make this list. There aren’t in any sure order like always! Enjoy! (Currently adding explanations!) All of these stories center around a main character with depression. This list is derived from The Anime Man's "The OFFICIAL Top 100 Manga Of All Time (According To The Internet) Is Actually Surprising..." video. The video goes over the results of an online poll that he created in which people could vote for their favorite manga series. This manga list is mostly split into two section, until I expand some more: Psychological and Action, these are great genres on their own, but when you blend them together, it's comes as a dark twisted story with an element that also keeps you engaged with it that makes you crave for more chapters. I'll add more as I read but I hope I make someone read them as well. There are classics here as well as underrated gems, most of them are known to an extent but there are some here that you never heard of. Hope y'all mods happy now. 。·:*:·゚★,。·:*:·゚☆。·:*:·゚★,。·:*:·゚☆。·:*:·゚★,。·:*:·゚☆。·:*:·゚★,。·:*:·゚☆ |
