i liked this even if the plot was very similar it was still creative like how a train got animal features this time and it was a little more grown up with just a little more depth. i mean the cat train is probably a nod to my neighbor totoro but it's still something new for tokyo mew mew.

i hope the new show coming out is like this. it's short but manages to make a satisfying sequel in two chapters. i like the new art style too even if it doesn't have the same early 2000s aesthetics and charm.

Overall 6/10

Story 6/10: takes place after A la mode, so berry is included in this 2 chapter story. Brings back the nostalgia, and the story is just your usual daily mews activity of fighting the chimera. It's nice, but at the same time it's focusing on Ichigo and Aoyama too much. I'm guessing this will be a prologue to the new anime or they're planning on a sequel or something. And i know 2 chapters can't cover much, but it still made me dissatisfied since i was expecting it for the mews as a group - focused story.

Art 9/10: the art is nice as usual. ... It definitely have that differences with the old art, but the modern touches actually looks nice since i can't really enjoy old shoujo art anymore.

Character 5/10: as i said before, berry is included here. Since i didn't like her in A la mode, i was expecting that this might change my mind a bit. Turns out, i was wrong. Since It's pretty much ichigo + aoyama focused, the other characters didn't shine much.. (except for Purin and Mint... And a bit of Tasuku?) Let alone able to fix my impression.. The aliens act as usual, which is a plus. But yeah.. the other characters didn't have much impressions here.

Enjoyment 6/10: despite all that, i still kinda enjoys it regardless. Perhaps i just miss this series so much or maybe i tried to not think too much about other things.

Overal 6/10. Kinda lower than the og series, but higher than A la mode. It could've been a 7, but i read it while expecting something else. So... Can't be helped

Tokyo Mew Mew was my very first manga that I ever bought so it does have special place deep in my heart. That's why writing review this low brakes me just a little bit.

I got excited when I first heard that TMM would continue after so many years. You can clearly see that art style has changed tragically and normally I'd say it's not a bad thing, but when you compare it to the old style.. it's ugly and lazy. Like super lazy.
I understand that the original style with so many details can be pain in the ass but I hate seeing how so ... many times the characters have '_' face just to make things more easy.
Even though you can see Ichigo's panties, her boobs have grown (idk why I had to point that out xD) and Aoyama is thirsty teenager, I'd say this is made for kids. Not for those who loved the original TMM and get to grow up with it.

Also, Pudding repeating "na no da" just makes me wanna puke. Are they trying to create something like "dattebayo"?

Anyway, points for recreating some old scenes (for example Pudding's "perfect stage" formed with chairs).
